The Maya god Kukulcan (Mayan representation of Quetzalcoatl “feathered serpent”) is the deity who presides over the site and builds in his honor is his main pyramid, called as “the castle” that is the Temple of Kukulcan. This Mayan metropolis in their golden years was the political, cultural and religious center and it has spent various constructive moments and the influences of the different Mayan peoples who occupied it mainly during the Postclassic period.
Beautiful buildings make up this Maya complex, the castle, the sacred “water eye” Cenote where offerings and human sacrifices were made, especially young girls, the Mayan observatory also known as Caracol, The Mayan ball game, the Temple of Warriors with 100 columns the market and the temple of Venus, the Temple of Jaguars among others.
